FIELD: metal cutting, possibly honing surfaces of cylindrical openings. SUBSTANCE: honing head includes body in the form of apertural sleeve, honing bars and rod. Honing bars are in the form of abrasive honing ring halves mounted by means of joint assemblies in apertures of body. The last has necking portions with sphere surfaces in places of joint mounting of abrasive honing ring halves. Sphere surfaces of necking portions are joined with respective spherical opening of abrasive honing ring halves movably mounted on axles with possibility of forced rotation. EFFECT: improved design of honing head providing enhanced quality and efficiency of honed openings, lowered energy consumption for unit of removed metal due to use of honing ring halves with working surface inclined relative to lengthwise axis, improved chipping and supply of lubricating and cooling liquid. 4 dwg
