FIELD: agriculture, in particular, phytopathology, testing plants for virus, cleaning virus and preparing antiserum. SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing phosphate buffer; introducing hydroxybenzene acid derivative into phosphate buffer with following infecting grassy plants with juice of plants under test; performing immunofermental analysis of plants-indicators; determining presence of virus on the basis of test results. Sample under test is considered virus infected, when sample optical density exceeds that of control sample more than by two times. EFFECT: increased virus concentration, intensified infection of plants-indicators, accelerated test method and provision for obtaining reliable results. 2 cl, 4 tbl, 4 ex
