FIELD: nuclear technology. SUBSTANCE: mixture of charged particles is formed by means of ionization in ionization chamber and electrostatic field is used to draw out this mixture from the chamber. Charged particles are then separated by magnetic field and received in charged particles' receiver. Magnetic separation is accomplished through action of magnetic barriers of static and controlled magnetic field by way of replacing barriers by other ones or by changing the shape of barriers as well as when changing position of magnetic barriers depending on the mass of charged particles to be separated. Magnetic barriers are elevated values of magnetic induction in extended space regions. These barriers can be formed by allowing electric currents to flow over hollow conductors or hollow superconductors and also by using coils with spatially extended cores. Separation of particles take place when the latter move in magnetic field. EFFECT: increased separation selectivity. 6 dwg
