FIELD: power-plant engineering; thermal and plasma engineering. SUBSTANCE: space zone with module of gradient of total vector potential Atot(grad/Atot/) other than zero is organized in space area whose total vector potential Atot is lower than space vector potential Ag and equals sum of current vector potential A and space vector potential Ag for energy generation including power action on material body due to its displacement on at least some portion of its movement in this area; space zone is organized by applying field of current vector potential A to mentioned area at angle of 90 to 270 deg, to space vector potential Ag; used as material body is body held in plasma aggregate state; plasma material body is displaced in mentioned zone at angle 0 to 90 deg. to direction of vector Atot. Device affording positive effect (energy generator) has means for building up field of current vector potential A, material body being accelerated, and plasma source (plasma generator) incorporating system for positioning mentioned source in space relative to direction of vector of space vector potential Ag. Mentioned generator may be found useful for heat-generating apparatuses, aerodynamics, traction systems to displace jet engines, plasma accelerators, and miscellaneous pieces of equipment in space, for magnetohydrodynamic energy conversion, plasma chemistry, plasma technology, and other fields of science and technology where high-speed and high-energy gas and plasma flows are required.
