FIELD: engine engineering for estimation of air-fuel jet rate at fuel injection. SUBSTANCE: luminous radiation is passed through aerodispersion momentum flux in two sections at a base distance from each other. Relative intensity of luminous radiation is measured after passage through the flux for the time of conveyance of this flux. Time interval of flux conveyance through both sections is determined according to the equality of masses of the flux transferred through the first and second sections at a short base distance from each other. Flux rate for an arbitrary time moment of conveyance is determined as a relation between the known base distance between the two sections and the time interval of flux conveyance through the preset sections. The flux mass is determined at an arbitrary time moment of conveyance as on logarithm of relative intensity of luminous radiation that has passed through the flux in both sections. EFFECT: objective determination of flux rate by simple determination at an arbitrary time moment of conveyance of the time of transfer of similar masses of aerodispersion momentum flux between two sections. 1 dwg
