FIELD: fire extinguishing. SUBSTANCE: pyrotechnic formulation is prepared from composition containing 9-20 wt % of gas-air sol former, in particular, two dicyanodiamide fractions (40- 80 and 7-15 mcm at weight ratio 80: 20); 6-14 wt.% of combustible binder, in particular, polycondensate of formaldehyde with organic compound (basically melamine, urea, phenol) in the form of 70-120 and 10-25 mcm fractions at weight ratio 70:30; and oxidant (the balance). Mixing of components can be performed either in the form of powders or by dispersing oxidant or gas-air sol former in combustible binder solution. First, coarse fractions and then finer fractions are mixed. Mixture is finally dried and molded. EFFECT: enabled preparation of formulations with desired physico-mechanical properties characterizing by increased combustion rate and reduced burning temperature and also by high mass portion of 1-2 mcm solid particles included in aerosol. 9 cl, 1 tbl
