APPARATUS FOR MAKING TUBES WITH MULTISTART HELICAL CORRUGATIONS Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: manufacture of corrugated tubes. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes shaping members in the form of discs whose number is equal to that of corrugation starts. Discs are arranged around axis of apparatus on axles mounted in mechanisms for radial motion, rotation and angle fixation. Said mechanism are arranged on housing of apparatus. Working peripheral surface of discs is in the form of recess of corrugations. Mechanism for radial controlled motion, rotation and angular fixation relative to axis of apparatus for each disc includes cam secured to disc chuck and pusher engaged with cam and arranged in guide mounted on housing, cylindrical rod mounted in pusher with possibility of rotation around its own axis and fixed against axial movement. Axle of disc is placed on end of rod that is arranged nearer to axis of apparatus. On opposite end of rod and on end of pusher there are opening portions whose number corresponds to number of angular positions of discs relative to axis of apparatus. Portions of openings of rod and pusher are arranged with different angular shift for providing possibility of alternative arrangement of stopper in openings restricted by their portions. Contact of pusher and cam is provided due to their geometrical closing. Working surfaces of cam are in the form of Archimedean helix and they are joined with pusher through rolling bearing. Guides with pushers and cams are mounted with possibility of rearranging on housing and on disc chuck respectively. Difference values of angular shifts of opening portions in rod and pusher are equal to values of rotation angles of disc relative to axis of apparatus. Openings and stopper are cylindrical ones, their axes are parallel relative to rod axis. Adjustment of radial motions is provided due to use of three abutments.
