FIELD: melting of high-alloy tool and constructional steels. SUBSTANCE: method comprises filling hollow body with alloying material. Prior to filling operation, alloying material is melted and it is then poured into cavity thus making it possible to increase content of alloying components in electrode and to use rationally scrap and waste of high-alloy steels and alloys. Invention allows increasing alloyability of steel melted with consumable electrodes and also reducing cost price for preparation of the consumable electrode.
