FIELD: production of graphite materials, particularly, methods of production of band of expanded graphite. SUBSTANCE: method includes stage compression of particles of expanded graphite with obtaining at each stage of definite level of material density: at the first stage, porous, gas-permeable mat is formed with density of 0.05-0.15 g/cu.cm; at the second stage, porous mat is densified into band to obtain density of 0.8-0.97 of preset density; at the third stage, band is rolled on sizing rolls to obtain desired density. EFFECT: reduced power consumption and higher process efficiency due to increased rate of formation and rolling of band without impairing of material physical and mechanical characteristics. 1 tbl, 2 ex
