METHOD FOR TREATING RESPIRATORY DISTRESS SYNDROME Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

Abstract RU 2148980 C1

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves applying kinetic therapy using two schemes with Propopholum sedation on the background of mature distress syndrome form at the first or the second day of the disease based on changes in the monitoring data. Patient body position is to be changed 10 min later after inducing medicamentous sleep. The first scheme of the kinetic therapy is applied first of all. It is done by transferring the patient from the supine position to the lateral position (on right or left side), then into the prone position, then into the lateral position on the other side and then once more into the supine position. Time required for the mentioned four sequential changes of position is equal to 3-6 h in the first scheme repeating it 5-15 times. The required number of position changes being achieved within the first scheme when stable monitoring data are obtained and no postural responses are observed, sequential changes of patient positions are carried out according to the second scheme of the kinetic therapy described as back-to-side-to-the other side. Time required for the mentioned four sequential changes of position is equal to 5-10 h repeating the cycle 5-10 times. Sleep is induced by bolus injection of Propopholum at a dose of 0.3-0.7 mg/kg retaining the dose of 2 mg/kg/h during 10 min before changing patient position. Propopholum injections are continued at a dose of 2 mg/kg/h during 20 min after every position change cycle. Body positions are changed all the time without making long pauses during 2-6 days. EFFECT: reduced number of lethal outcomes in patients of resuscitation care profile. 4 cl, 1 tbl
