FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves measuring patient height and determining reference body weight of the patient (mref). Excessive body weight (mexc) is determined. Age (a) is taken into consideration. Reference thoracic lung compliance (Cref) is calculated from formulas Cref = (mref) - (mexc)/3 - (a-3)/3 in patients elder than 30 years and having excessive body weight, Cref = (mref) - (a-3)/3 in patients elder than 30 years and having no body weight excess, Cref = (mref) - (mexc)/3 in 30 years old patients having excessive body weight, Cref = (mref) in 30 years old patients having no body weight excess, where Cref is the reference thoracic lung compliance in ml/cm of water column, mref is the reference body weight of the patient in kg, mexc is the excessive body weight of the patient in kg, a patient age in years. Thoracic lung compliance (C) is measured and ratio of C/ Cref is calculated. The value being from 1.4 to 1.99, the first degree of acute lung disorder is to be diagnosed. The value being from 2 to 2.99, the second degree of acute lung disorder is to be diagnosed. The value being from 3 to 5, the third degree of acute lung disorder is to be diagnosed. The value being greater than 5, the fourth degree of acute lung disorder is to be diagnosed.

EFFECT: high accuracy of diagnosis.
