FIELD: transport engineering; spherical joints for front suspensions of automobiles. SUBSTANCE: spherical joint has spherical pin enclosed in body 1 having blind hole and inserts made from thermoplastic antifriction wear-resistant polymer material which embrace this pin. Insert 7 has semispherical inner surface and insert 5 is circular. Lower end face of this insert has projection with spherical or conical surface for engagement with respective inner surface of locking split ring whose outer surface is cylindrical in shape or its generatrix has form of arc or broken line consisting of two sections; its generatrix may consist of two curvilinear sections. Outer surface of ring is partially or fully provided with engageable circular or helical projections of triangular or trapezoidal form. Initial height of solid circular insert is selected from ratio of 1.02-1.10 of its height in assembled state. Initial outer diameter of ring is equal to 1.01-1.03 of its diameter after mounting it in body; height of engageable projections is selected from ratio of 0.15-0.25 of thickness of ring and pitch of engageable projections is selected from ratio of 0.20-0.35 of thickness of ring.
