FIELD: public utilities; sewage treatment systems making use of activated sludge. SUBSTANCE: sump has rectangular reservoir. Upper guides for motion of trolley are mounted on upper portion of extended walls of reservoir. Two rods secured on trolley hold sludge scraper made in form of swivel frame with shifted center of mass. Lower guides laid on bottom of reservoir along its extended sides are used for change of position of scraper from vertical to horizontal. Retainers are mounted on rods near scraper. Ends of lower guides are inclined upward at angle of 40 to 50 deg. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of sump. 2 cl, 2 dwg
