HORIZONTAL SETTLER Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: public utilities; treatment of sewage by means of activated sludge. SUBSTANCE: proposed settler includes rectangular reservoir with sludge pit, scraper and scraper drive in its bottom. Two pairs of guides are mounted in upper and lower parts of reservoir in parallel with extended walls. Each lower guide is located in vertical plane corresponding to upper guide. Each pair of guides located in vertical plane is embraced by closed chain at negative allowance. Scraper is secured between pair of trolleys mounted on chains. It is mounted on tubular support for spontaneous disconnection in case of stop of one of chains. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 4 cl, 1 dwg
