FIELD: hydroacoustics. SUBSTANCE: cable junction made primarily in the form of insulating (primarily rubber) box is produced as follows. Each pair of current-conducting members being spliced is connected to binding post whose middle part is pre-coated with high-temperature rubber stock layer which is then cured. Splices obtained are placed in rubber mass with insulating rubber stock being covered with tape followed by curing; in the process, blanks with grooves are made from low-temperature insulating rubber stock under incomplete curing conditions; splices are then placed in mentioned grooves, insulating tapes of low-temperature rubber stock are applied to stack obtained in two layers upper layer being formed of tapes resistant to chemically active agents; then they are allowed to cure in two steps, first under incomplete curing conditions for rubber stock and then upon filling free and open spaces in rubber mass with low-temperature stock sheet fragments resistant to chemically active agents; after that curing is ceased; in the process, conducting members are joined to binding posts by soldering. EFFECT: improved reliability of joints for cables covered with polyvinyl chloride sheathing and their conductors insulated with polyethylene. 4 dwg
