FIELD: depth peripheral grinding of materials with tendency to formation of flaws such as burnouts and microcraking, namely grinding parts with control of heat flux directed to part. SUBSTANCE: method is realized at using buildup grinding disc with intermittent and continuous working surface. Method comprises steps of imparting to disc rotation and motion relative to ground part; using buildup disc having odd number, at least three, of abrasive discs mounted alternatively and having intermittent and continuous surfaces on common shaft with axial gap z one relative to another; mounting discs at inclination relative to plane normal to rotation axis by acute angle α; at wearing increasing inclination angle of discs and reducing gap z between them. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of grinding process due to possibility for changing inclination angle of separate discs of buildup disc and axial gap between discs, optimized thermal stresses of process, high quality of grinding due to oscillation of cutting zone. 3 cl, 4 dwg, 1 ex
