FIELD: medicine, pediatry, pharmacy. SUBSTANCE: invention reports immunomodulating properties of paracetamol which is known early as drug used for treatment of hyperthermic states arising in acute diseases of respiratory system (acute respiratory viral infection, acute bronchitis, acute pneumonia) in children. Acute respiratory diseases are used as model of pathological states in children. Indices of hemogram, microviscosity of neutrophil membranes, spontaneous neutrophil adhesion determined before and on 4-th days from onset of treatment with panadol are used as controlled parameters. Goal-seeking immunomodulating effect of claimed agent on neutrophils is detected that recoveries their functional activity and showing prophylactic effect on tissue damage by polymorphonuclear leukocytes. On the other hand, stabilization of leukocyte membrane prevents the effect on cells of different infectious and noninfectious pyrogens, formation and release of secondary endogenic pyrogens from their that results to break off of cascade feverish response. EFFECT: improved results, prevention of development of complications, decreased period of hyperpyrexia and course of diseases. 3 tbl
