FIELD: mechanical engineering, applicable for manufacture of barrels of fowling-pieces and guard weapon. SUBSTANCE: the aim of the invention is manufacture of barrels for fowling-pieces and guard weapon with a non-traditional profile of bore (oval, triangular, etc.) for shooting with cartridges outfitted with small shots or bullet. The method consists in hot plastic deformation of a round billet with a degree of deformation within 15 to 22% on a profile water-cooled mandrel, having a cylindrical part and a profile (oval, triangular, etc.) part with a taper of 0.2 to 0.5 deg. and turn relative to the mandrel axis through an angle exceeding the rated angle of the bore screw profile by 2 to 4 deg. The mandrel is located in the center of deformation of its cylindrical part 1-2 mm in advance in the direction of billet feed relative to the cylindrical part of the deforming tool.
