FIELD: timber and wood working industry. SUBSTANCE: proposed device has U-shaped spring-loaded lever whose ends are connected with saw body by axles arranged, respectively, from of sawing device and opposite side of body. Lever spring is located on turning axle found at side of saw body opposite to sawing device. Braking device has also starting mechanism in form of bellcrank, connecting link and carrier, the latter being installed on lever turning axle. One end of bellcrank is spring-loaded, and the other is coupled with brake band of sawing device. U-shaped lever is provided with contact members radially arranged at its end face side for engagement with starting mechanism carrier. Carrier of starting mechanism and at least contact member of U-shaped lever have the following parameters: R/L=0.5-0.8 where R is distance from lever turning axle to outer end face surface of contact member pointed to indicated turning axle of bellcrank. L is length of carrier (center-to-center distance between turning axle and axle of hinge joint of carrier and connecting link). EFFECT: simplified design, enhanced operation reliability. 3 cl, 5 dwg
