FIELD: optical equipment. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technology of manufacturing products from mono- and polycrystals used in nuclear and space-system engineering, medical diagnostics, and other areas for registration of ionization emissions. According to invention, cylindrical mono- or polycrystal preform is cut into shells with thickness h and length l <4πR, where R is radius of shell. Shell is heated to be transferred into plasticity region, after which it is unfolded into product by means of unfolding. Forming part of unfolding appliance is forcibly or freely turned or rolled on the surface (cylindrical, parabolic, or irregular) of product during unfolding operation.
