FIELD: ferrous metallurgy; steel making industry. SUBSTANCE: method of deoxidation and carburization of steel includes addition of cold pig iron and carbon-containing materials. Cold pig iron and carbon- containing materials are introduced in melt in form of blocks where layer of carbon-containing material is located in center portion and cast-iron is distributed over periphery. Blocks contain, mass-%: carbon-containing materials, 5 to 20; cast-iron, 80 to 95. EFFECT: improved quality of steel; reduced melting time due to stabilization of content of carbon in melt. 1 dwg
