FIELD: mechanical engineering; spark ignition internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed engine has piston unit consisting of operating and compression pistons connected by rod and fuel and ignition systems and energy converter. Compression piston is made of magnetically permeable material and is installed in space accommodating air displacer installed for control of amount of displaced air, for instance, by means of screw connection. Dimensions of air displacer are selected to provided compression of air by piston by value sufficient for returning operating piston into initial position of commencement of fuel combustion. Energy converter consists of field and generating windings. Compression piston can be made of magnetic material, and energy converter, of generator winding. EFFECT: simplified design, reduced overall dimensions, increased efficiency. 1 dwg
