FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method includes heating, holding and subsequent cooling in gas flow. Method is distinguished by the fact that casting is heated and held at temperature of Ac1 + 20 C and subsequent cooling to ambient temperature is effected with simultaneous action of gas flow and acoustic field of sound frequency range and sound pressure level within 140-170 dB. Casting is cooled in resonator of sound gas-jet generator with cooling operating gas in the form of air. Application of method results in reduction of cementite content in casting structure, reduced hardness and improved machinability with reduced time of working by several times.
