FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: item is heated to temperature of austenisation and cooled in air to temperature of transformation of austenite into ferrite-pearlite structure; further, item is cooled with pulsating gas flow of rate from 25 to 30 m/sec, frequency of oscillations from 830 to 1000 Hz, pulse air pressure from 8 to 12 kPa and alternate sound pressure from 80 to 90 dB. Also, flow of gas is directed perpendicular to direction of load at item operation.
EFFECT: raised plasticity, impact resistance and strength of items out of structural steel.
