FIELD: physics; nuclear technology.
SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to the method of making radioisotopes generators and is aimed at nuclear medicine. The technecium-99m generator for obtaining a sterile radio-sample of technecium-99m comprises a chromatographic column with a sorbent, packed in layers. One of the layers is made from aluminium oxide in acidic form. The other layer contains silica gel, modified with manganese (IV) oxide. At the output, the chromatographic column contains a cation-exchange protective layer of carboxylated polyethylene in Na-form. Technecium-99m radio nuclides are eluated by a physiological salt solution through a column with a carrier, containing adsorbed molybdenum-99 radionuclide, packed in the elution direction in a layer, containing silica gel, modified with manganese (IV) dioxide and a layer containing aluminium oxide in acidic form. At the output of the column, there is another layer containing carboxylated polyethylene in Na-form. At the output of the chromatographic column, containing silica gel, modified with MnO2, and Al2O3 in acidic form, there is a cation-exchange protective layer of carboxylated polyethylene in Na-form. Thus, there is no need for neutralisation of the initial nitric acid solution by 99Mo. Conversion of Al2O3 into acidic form takes place when "charging" the generator. Transfer of Mn2+ cations into the eluate is prevented. A stable high output of 99mTc is provided for.
EFFECT: prevention of conversion of Al2O3 into acidic form takes place when "charging" the generator and provision for a stable high output of 99mTc.
