FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to chitosan-based microporous sorbents. Disclosed is a sorbent containing chitosan, cross-linked with glutaraldehyde in the presence of an acid catalyst. Concentration of glutaric aldehyde ranges from about 2 to about 4 wt. %. After crosslinking, the sorbent is oxidised, at least in part, with an oxidant which is chlorite in concentration of 1 mM to 10 mM. Also disclosed is a method of producing the sorbent and use thereof. Invention provides high selectivity of the sorbent to Mo(VI) relative to Tc(VII).

EFFECT: sorbent is resistant to degradation under the influence of beta and gamma radiation and under action of acids.
