FIELD: nuclear power engineering. SUBSTANCE: system is used for passive evacuation of hydrogen from reactor containment using catalytic recombination of hydrogen in case of loss-of-coolant accident. Wall of baffle 26 under containment is used to organize upflow and downflow air paths with convective exchange between them. Upflow air passes through pipeline area of coolant 22 and is effective to carry hydrogen away from break point and downflow air goes to area 28 adjacent to wall of containment 12. Upflow air path from coolant pipelines is arranged so that distance of conveyed hydrogen is restricted by upflow air conveyed; catalytic hydrogen recombination chambers are located in the path of conveyed upflow air to recombine mentioned upflow air.
