METHOD OF PRODUCING POROUS SEMIFINISHED AND FINISHED PRODUCTS FROM POWDERS OF ALUMINUM ALLOYS (VERSIONS) Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: powder metallurgy; methods applicable in production of materials for construction, aviation, automotive industries, manufacture of elevators and other industries. SUBSTANCE: method consists in mixing of aluminum alloy powders with porofors having decomposition temperature exceeding solidus-liquidus temperature of powder of aluminum alloy. Produced mixture is filled into vessel from aluminum alloy, and vessel with mixture of powders is heated. Then hot pressing, repeated heating, hot deformation of pressed blank, its cooling and subsequent high-temperature treatment in mold and repeated cooling are effected. Mixture of powders of aluminum alloys and porofors is preliminarily compacted. Heating of vessel with compacted mixture of powders prior to hot pressing and heating of pressed blank prior to hot deformation are carried out up to temperature 10-20 C below solidus temperature of the most low-melting component of aluminum alloy. High-temperature heat treatment is carried out by subjecting the blank to all-round uniform heating to temperature 40-70 C above temperature of solid-liquid phase transition. According to the second version of the claimed method, hot deformation of pressed blank is effected by rolling to impart to it sheet form, and before high-temperature heat treatment, it is heated up to temperature of 350-450 C and held at this temperature for 90-120 min with forming of finished product. According to the third version, pressed blank before high-temperature heat treatment is obtained in the form of rod.
