FIELD: steelmaking. SUBSTANCE: aluminum wire is added into ladle while simultaneously blowing metal in ladle with oxygen from above through immersed lance. Lance immersion depth (H, m) is varied and specified from following dependence: H = KVFQq/T, where V is volume of steel in ladle, cu.m; F area of steel mirror in ladle, sq.m; Q oxygen intake, cu.m/min per 1 t steel; q consumption of aluminum wire, kg per 1 t steel; T temperature of steel in ladle in the beginning of treatment, oC; K empirical factor taking account of physico-chemical mechanisms of aluminum oxidation and ranging between 6 and 375 sq.t.min.oC/m7.kg. EFFECT: increased steel heating productivity and efficiency. 1 tbl, 5 ex
