FIELD: communications engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed system for computer-aided control of short-wave communications is, essentially, off-channel complex that uses only nine fixed frequencies for testing short-wave range and adapts channel equipment operation to daily dynamics of ionosphere and radio noise with the result that equipment is operating all times at optimal frequencies. Complex functions to predict occurrence of permanent failures using ionosphere persistence properties and monitoring dynamics of correspondent signals at optimal operating frequencies and to tune communication equipment of both correspondents to new optimal frequencies in advance before failure occurs. Such provision eliminates working intervals and ensures reliability of radio communication channels close to unity. EFFECT: improved reliability of equipment. 4 cl, 9 dwg
