FIELD: radio engineering, communication.

SUBSTANCE: system for automatic control of short-wave (SW) communication includes a device for calculating radio wave propagation characteristics, a clock-pulse generator, a global navigation satellite system signal receiver with an antenna and a synthesizer. A system is disclosed for automatic control of SW communication using a computer for radio communication network adaptation. Using a plurality of fixed frequencies for SW range testing, the system adapts channel equipment operation to the direction of communication, diurnal dynamics of the ionosphere and radio-frequency interference. Using the ionosphere inertia property, by controlling the behaviour of subscriber signals, taking into account propagation characteristics of radio waves in the SW range: coordinates of transmission and reception points, Moscow decree time, the month of the year and the coefficient of solar activity, the system predicts the time of occurrence of persistent failures and communication means of both correspondents are turned to new optimum frequencies in advance before the failure, with referencing to the exact universal time.

EFFECT: broader functional capabilities of the system owing to exclusion of persistent adaptation and control channels with radio stations allocated thereto, taking into account propagation characteristics of radio waves in the SW range.
