FIELD: public utilities. SUBSTANCE: according to proposed method, waste collected by garbage removal trucks is transported to sorting station where waste is placed on charging conveyor 1. In process of transportation of waste by conveyor, large-size articles are taken out and placed into container 30. Waste is loaded into rotating cylinder screen 4 with perforated cylinder 16. Axis of rotation of perforated cylinder 16 in screen is located horizontally. Waste in perforated cylinder 16 is displaced along spiral paths by means of auger blades secured on inner surface of cylinder 16. Bags and sacks with waste are destructed by tenons fitted on auger blades. Waste from rotating cylinder screen is delivered to sorting conveyor 5 along which working places of operators with hatches for throwing down definite fractions are located. At outlet from sorting conveyor 5, fraction consisting of nonutilizable waste is directed into gathering hopper from which it is directed in separate portions into emptied garbage removal trucks by means of outfeed conveyor operated by drive. Fractions obtained after sorting of hard domestic waste are directed to reprocessing installations. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of reprocessing. 25 cl, 8 dwg
