FIELD: production of iron ore pellets. SUBSTANCE: method includes supply of wet mixture to plate pelletizer with formation in the course of rotation of idle and working zones; pelletizing of mixture with formation of ascending and descending layers of pellets; treatment of descending layer with flow of compressed air oriented at an angle towards idle zone. In this event, pellets of descending layer are divided into several streams, each treated with compressed air jet. Beginning of the first stream is formed at a distance of 0.6-1.5 m from lower boundary of idle zone. Compressed air flow rate in each next stream is decreased by (5-10)•10-3m3/m2•s with increase of pellet diameter per every 4 mm. EFFECT: higher strength of pellets and reduced consumption of compressed air in the course of pelletizing. 1 dwg, 1 tbl, 1 ex
