FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, particularly, production of iron ore pellets. SUBSTANCE: method includes supply of wet charge to pelletizer plate, formation of slag lining on plate bottom and sides; charge pelletizing; treatment of product with jets of compressed air. Charge is pelletized with formation of ascending and descending layers. Treated with jets of compressed air is descending layer. Compressed air jets are directed towards plate sides. Lining slag is moistened on plate sides with moisture content of 8.5-11.0%, then wavy fluted channels of 12-20 mm in diameter are formed on its surface.
