FIELD: pulse equipment, generation of short pulses of electric current. SUBSTANCE: technique of generation of nanosecond pulses of current in system incorporating diode region limited by cathode and anode, drift space limited by cathode and electron collector consists in transmission of electron beam with current exceeding limiting vacuum current through drift space till virtual cathode is formed. Characteristic feature of technique lies in feed of at least one additional electron pulse to diode region after formation of virtual cathode. Generator of nanosecond pulses of current has cathode and anode forming diode region and collector forming drift space together with anode. One as minimum additional source of electron beam is located in zone of diode region. Employment of this invention results in rise of about 20% of power efficiency of proposed structural circuit based on given technique as compared with traditional devices. EFFECT: rise of power efficiency of structural circuit based on given technique. 2 cl, 1 dwg
