FIELD: relativistic microwave electronics; large pulsed and pulse-periodic microwave sources. SUBSTANCE: vircator has electron emitter, anode electrode with diaphragm, and electron collector, all arranged in tandem, as well as power supply connected to emitter and to anode electrode, return current conductor interconnecting anode electrode and collector, and microwave beam output device. Novelty is that instead of known current conductor use is made of at least one flexible conductor that also functions as microwave beam output device and connects anode electrode to collector. Flexible conductors may be made in the form of simple loops, spirals with or without internal core; they may be loaded into director antennas. Vircator antenna assembly can be easily readjusted in case of change of its mode of operation. EFFECT: facilitated readjustment of vircator antenna assembly, reduced phasing time and time taken for holding phased condition. 7 cl, 12 dwg
