FIELD: railway transport; electrified railways. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to noncontact diagnosing of condition of contact wire and can be used in movable measuring cars-laboratories. Device has pickup, photodetector connected with pickup by optical fiber flexible cable, storage and recorder. Pickup has high-frequency generator, meter built around inductance coils, meter signals processing unit, analog-to-digital converter and light-emitting diode. Proposed design provides communication of nearest meter coils, improved dynamic properties of contacts owing to use of light source and photodetector connected by optical fiber flexible cable.
