FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, namely production of carbon steel, possibly used in steel melting shops of metallurgical plants. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of melting low carbon steel in steel melting aggregate, carburizing, killing and neutralization blowing steel in ladle. Carburization is realized at tapping steel to ladle by adding coke whose consumption is determined by formula Qcoke=-2547.6 *99.[C]1+353.1, where Qcoke - coke consumption,kg; [C]1- carbon content before tapping,%; 2547.6 and 353.1 - empirical coefficients. Then neutralization blowing out is performed for finally carburizing steel at afterpouring iron whose consumption is determined by formula: Qiron= [C]3-[C]2/0.0133, where Qiron - consumption of cast iron,t; [C]2- intermediate carbon content before afterpouring iron melt,%; [C]3- target carbon content in ready metal,%; 0.0133- empirical coefficient.
