PROCESS AND GEAR TO RESTORE FLEXIBILITY AND TO STRETCH SPINAL COLUMN Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: medical equipment, unloading and stretching of spinal column for prophylactic purposes. SUBSTANCE: body is lifted on special supporting platform equipped with neck-and-head, under-shoulder and waist rests which is forced to deviate from vertical position on horizontal axis through angle up to 60 degrees in order to enhance efficiency of action and smoothness of growth of stretching effort. Horizontal axis is located at level of boundary of neck and chest sections of spinal column or below. Lower edge of supporting platform is positioned in region of upper part of waist section of spinal column. Decrease of radius of turn of lower edge of platform leads to deceleration of lift and as consequence to smoother redistribution of load from flour ( feet ) to under-shoulder rests ( shoulder belt ). Force stretching waist and chest sections of patient's spinal column changes accordingly. Smaller radii of turn of platform make it feasible to restore and to develop flexibility of spinal column under sparing condition of " unloading ".
