Abstract RU 2158634 C2

FIELD: gas cleaning. SUBSTANCE: catalytic unit is made by alternately stacking of rectangular catalytic members formed by cutting off catalytic supporting plates coated with catalytic material and having ribs inclined at angle of 45 deg to one preset side edge, and turned with upper side downward. Catalytic unit is located in gas duct so that catalytic member ribs are installed at angle exceeding 0 degree and less than 90 deg to direction of gas flow. When catalytic unit containing catalytic members coated with denitriding catalyst is placed into gas duct, ribs of catalytic members partition gas flow and generate turbulent flows downstream to facilitate contact of ammonia and nitrogen oxides contained in effluent gases with catalyst. When gas flow is disturbed, thickness of laminar films coating surface of catalytic members reduces so that ammonia and nitrogen oxides may be easily diffused and catalytic activity may be increased. Catalytic members efficiency manifest their catalytic properties without subsequent considerable loss of pressure in gas flow.
