FIELD: mechanical engineering; materials handling facilities. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to high-power inclined belt conveyors of large length and capacity intended for upward and downward transportation of loads, and to conveyors used for transportation of loads and men. Proposed inclined belt conveyor has drum over which closed endless belt passes, frame and brake consisting of brake pulley and locking device. Detachable brake pulley is secured directly on drum shell. Brake is made in form of summary band brake with brake lever hinge-mounted on conveyor frame. Lower arm of lever is mechanically coupled with free ends of brake band by spring and power drive-pusher. Upper is connected through spring-loaded power brace with upper span of brake band. Brake pulleys with locking devices can be installed from two sides of drum. Brake band is made of metal strip or combination of fixing metal strip arranged from outside and steel round-link calibrated chain secured to strip and to brake lever. U-shaped bosses with inner slots are secured in pairs on vertically orientated chain links within the limits of angle of chain contact with brake pulley. Inner slots of bosses straddle chain link from two sides. Bosses are tied up by bolt to provided engagement of bosses with brake pulley. Brake band is made of flexible metal strip.
