FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: belt brake comprises brake pulley which is turned by steel belt whose one end is secured to the short arm of the lever pivotally mounted on the frame, and the other end is secured at the same distance to the horizontally oriented arm of the lever kinematically connected with the driving mechanism for applying and releasing the brake. The brake pulley is provided with three rims. Two outer rims are rounded by additional flexible steel belts whose ends point in the direction opposite to the ends of the first belt, and their ends are secured to the ends of the second equal-arm lever pivotally connected to the frame diametrically opposite to the first lever with respect to the brake shaft. The horizontally oriented end of the arm of the second lever is pivotally connected with the first lever through the two ties. The lever is provided with additional horizontally oriented arm that projects outside the pivot of the lever. The distance between the sites of fastening of the steel belts to the levers and ends of the ties and pivots are equal. The bottom pivot is made of a common axle. The ties are provided with the screw tension rods.
