FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: described is method of preparing allyl chloride by gas phase chlorination of propylene under pressure at 430-420 C. Chlorination process is carried out in closed reaction space using forced circulation of reaction gases fed separately and introduction of 1,2-dichloropropane into reaction space. Propylene to chlorine molar ratio is 2.0-4.0:1.0. Ratio of volumes of gases circulating in reaction space and being withdrawn therefrom is 6-15:1, 1,2-dichloropropane is fed into reaction space in amount of 0.006-0.80 mole per 1 mole of propylene separately or in admixture with propylene or chlorine, and yield of allyl chloride is thus increased. EFFECT: more efficient preparation method. 23 ex, 1 tbl
