FIELD: shipbuilding and aviation; designing screw propellers for operation in gaseous media; surface and submarine ships, aircraft, helicopters, snowplanes and other similar transport facilities. SUBSTANCE: screw propeller includes propeller and nozzle inside which propeller is located. Propeller is located in plane of inlet section. Nozzle is made in form of funnel at smooth change from cone of funnel to its tube. Ratio of area of funnel inlet section to area of tube section satisfies the following condition: , where Sin is funnel inlet section area and St is tube sectional area. EFFECT: reduced cavitation and noise effects; enhanced efficiency. 1 dwg
