FIELD: chemistry of iridium, more particularly preparation of ammonium chlorirideate. SUBSTANCE: chlorirideatic acid solution is subjected to electrochemical purification. Purification is carried out at cathodic current density of 15-40 A/sq.dm. Solution contains organic substances such as tributyl phosphate and/or sulfoxides and/or kerosene and/or octanol. Solution acidity is 1-2 N HCl. Purification over, ammonium chlorirideate is precipitated with ammonium chloride from solution.
