METHOD OF DIAGNOSIS OF STATE OF VERTEBRAL COLUMN LIGAMENTOUS-MUSCULAR APPARATUS Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

Abstract RU 2162296 C1

FIELD: medicine, particularly, functional diagnostics. SUBSTANCE: method includes ultrasonic examination of vertebral column ligamentous-muscular apparatus by means of ultrasonic transducer which is located at the rear of patient's body and moved strictly along vertebral column, first parallel and then perpendicular to supraspinous and interspinous ligaments, and then at an angle of 15 deg to spinous processes of vertebras. During examination of vertebral column cervical part, patient is in face-down position with hands along the body and head forward, then patient raises head through angle of 30 deg, turns it right and then left through angle of 20 deg from middle position. In examination of superthoracal part of vertebral column, patient raises head and upper part of body through angle of 35 deg from couch. In examination of medio- and inferio-thoracal part of vertebral column, patient is first in edgewise position, then raises a straight leg through an angle of 25-30 deg from couch, takes leg forward through angle of 15 deg, and then backward through angle of 10 deg. During examination of lumbar part of vertebral column, patient is in face-down position, raises a straight leg through angle of 30 deg, then raises simultaneously body and both legs through angle of 20 deg from couch, and then in edgewise position bends legs in coxofemoral and knee joints with legs taken to chest. Detected trigger points in examined structures are indicative of affection of ligamentous-muscular apparatus of vertebral column. EFFECT: higher accuracy of diagnosis of state of vertebral column ligamentous-muscular apparatus. 1 ex
