FIELD: heterogeneous catalytic processes. SUBSTANCE: invention aims at determining catalytic activity of heterogeneous catalysts in one-way processes at normal pressure as stationary specific reaction rate at specified temperature and specified composition of reaction mixture in contact with catalyst when formal kinetics of catalytic processes is unknown. Invention aims at developing method for simultaneously providing temperature and concentration uniformity of catalyst bed and constancy of initial reaction mixture when reaction mixture intake in reactors vary. Solving such problems enables carrying out routine experiments. As a result, a series of catalytic reaction rates at different final reaction mixture compositions is obtained, which makes it possible to determine either graphically or analytically reaction rate at specified contact reaction mixture composition and specified temperature, i. e. to estimate catalytic activity. It is also possible to carry out experiments simultaneously on any number of reactors releasing part of reaction mixture into atmosphere or to carry out experiments on two reactors consuming total amount of initial reaction mixture.
