FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines; valve-actuating mechanisms. SUBSTANCE: proposed hydraulic tappet has first cup 1 with two hollow cylinders 2 and 3 with common bottom 4 and second cup with first hollow cylinder 6 and second hollow cylinder 7 with common bottom 8. Groove 9 to supply oil into hydraulic compensator is made in bottom 8. Hydraulic compensator has piston 10, spacer spring 11, cap 12 and taper valve 13. Cylinder 6 gets into cylinder 3 with clearance 14 to pass oil into space between cylinders 2 and 3 of cup 1. Cylinder 6 of cup 5 is fixed relative to cylinder 3 of cup 1 by locking 15 engaging with corresponding projection 16 on inner surface of cylinder 3. Cups 1 and 5 are additionally loaded by spacer spring 17, and cylinder 3 is provided with hole 18 for evacuation of oil and air from dead zones of hydraulic tappet.
