FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: invention describes methods used for inhibition of tissue angiogenesis using vitronectine antagonists, in part, inhibition of angiogenesis in inflammatory tissues, tumor tissues and metastasis. Methods involve the use of therapeutic compositions containing αvβ3-antagonists, in part, anti-αvβ3, monoclonal antibodies or RGD-containing polypeptide. Proposed methods provide to suppress angiogenesis in tissues where neovascularization occurs, for example, in inflammatory tissue, solid tumor, metastasis and tissues showing susceptible to restenosis.
