FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: at the beginning of first stroke, with piston approaching bottom dead center, fresh charge is fed into above-piston space of cylinder, this charge is compressed, ignited and combustion. During second stroke, expansion of combustion products takes place and first working stroke is executed. During third stroke, with piston moving to top dead center, combustion products are additionally compressed and neutralizing liquid is injected. Neutralizing liquid is injected into above-piston space of cylinder at the end of third stroke. During fourth stroke, under action of pressure rise, neutralizing liquid turns into vapor, and second working stroke is executed with simultaneous neutralization of waste gases and forcing out combustion products with vapor particles into atmosphere at the end of fourth stroke. EFFECT: increased engine efficiency, provision of neutralization of toxic components of combustion products. 2 cl, 1 dwg
